USS Atlantis
Yearly Status Report 2006
The year 2006 saw the Atlantis and its crew facing hostile situations and interesting challenges. We fought off the Dominion, were almost blasted to pieces by subspace rifts, escorted a convoy, commanded ships of our own, and started to investigate a pre-warp society. In this status report, I will briefly point out what adventures the crew of the Atlantis had to endure. I will also report the crew changes that have occurred in 2006. Finally, I will conjure up some posting statistics for the entire year.
So here it is: the Atlantis 2006 status report.
Episode 5: Fleetwide Mission
"Torn Away"
With Captain Torn abducted by subspace aliens who claims the Frontier Fleet's transwarp drives are killing them, the crew of the Atlantis is forced to flee from the subspace rifts that are attacking the ship. They seek refuge inside a nebula, which turns out to be claimed by the Dominion. If the Atlantis leaves, they will be destroyed by the subspace rifts waiting outside the nebula. But they cannot stay either, because several Dominion ships threaten to destroy the Atlantis if the ship doesn't leave. Unable to leave the nebula and unable to stay, Commander Velden and the rest of the crew face the toughest decision of their careers... And quite possibly their last.
Episode 6:
"Convoy Duty"
Having answered a distress signal and rescued a convoy on a humanitarian mission from pirate attacks, the crew of the Atlantis agrees to escort the convoy towards Helteka, their destination. But when the senior staff are asked to take command of several critically damaged convoy vessels, will their first command also be their last? And when the pirates attack in full force, how much will Captain Torn be willing to risk in order to defend the ships he had been asked to protect?
Episode 7:
"Ring of Truth"
The planet Acebi: home to a pre-warp culture that is about to take its first steps into outer space. The Atlantis is sent to observe, and an away team is sent down to go undercover and find out how far away the Acebi are from launching their first warp capable ship. It turns out that the Acebi people are obsessed with the truth. With the members of the away team lying about their true identities, a conflict with the truth-loving people of Acebi seems unavoidable. And in a society where the worst possible crime is to lie, the punishment that the away team has to face may be more than they can bear...

Legend:
Post = Number of players who posted at least once in a specific month.
NonP = Number of players who didn't post in that month.
Tot. = Number of players on the Atlantis in that month.
PC = Number of PC posts that month.
S/NPC= Number of SPC or NPC posts that month.
JP = Number of joint posts that month.
Avrg.= Average per player per month. What this means is that, for instance, in January 2006, the average Atlantis player posted an average of 7.15 posts.
Judging from these stats, we had an average of 14.8 (actually 14.75) players each month. So in an average month, we had 14.8 players. In that average month, 2.67 players didn't post, and the average player in the average month posted 4.54 posts, which means that the average player posted 54.51 posts in 2006. The average month had 31.6 PC posts, 35.8 S/NPC posts, 1.1 joint posts, and a total of 67 post.
We didn't do so well compared to 2005: we had 963 posts then and 804 posts now. Still, these are just figures and statistics. The important thing is that we had fun in 2006. I certainly had, and I hope you all had fun too. Have a great 2007, everyone.
Kind regards,
Ben,
Playing FO Paul Velden. |
