- 2393.01.08

Locations of the (crew of the) USS Atlantis:

- In orbit of the planet Helteka, Gamma Quadrant.
- Pandora Station.
- (In orbit of) the planet Acebi, Aorya system, Gamma Quadrant.

Summary:

- 2392.07.28

When convoy duty seemed to be over, several officers gathered in Five For to celebrate the successful outcome of this mission.

- 2392.07.30

The Atlantis left orbit of the planet Helteka and set a course back to the Alpha Quadrant.

- 2392.10.12

Due to the damage to the transwarp drive, the Atlantis only returned to Pandora Station after a journey of three months. At that time, the Odyssey was docked at the station as well, and Commander Leon Nerfertii, second officer of the Odyssey, decided to visit the ship that used to be his home before he transferred off the Atlantis.

- 2392.12.24

While officers at Pandora Station celebrate Christmas, Ensign Jase Conners on the Atlantis had his own little run-in with Christmas magic.

- 2393.01.03

A new year, a new mission: Captain Torn announced to the crew that the Atlantis would be heading to the planet Acebi, the fourth planet in the Aorya system in the Gamma Quadrant, to study a civilisation on the verge of achieving warp drive. An away team will beam down to observe the Acebi without being detected. The command crew had no problem finding any volunteers: all vacancies for the away team were filled the very same day already.

- 2393.01.08

Having arrived in the Aorya system, the Atlantis took up a position 3 Astronomical Units away from Acebi to avoid being detected. The away team, disguised as Acebi themselves, flew towards the planet in the Gamma Flyer Borhyas, which was smaller than the Atlantis and thus less likely to be detected.

Leaving the Borhyas on automatic pilot in a high orbit of the planet, the away team beamed down and started making their way towards the Acebi warp drive testing facility. They came across a number of Acebi, and soon found out that the Acebi value truth above everything else.

Meanwhile, on the Atlantis, a JAG observer with a mission to evaluate the Atlantis crew set out on that mission and began to question everyone and everything. This Commander Djesco is not impressed with the Atlantis crew at all, and seemingly can't wait for the crew to slip up. Will the crew be able to function properly under this harsh scrutiny?

December is a busy month for everyone, which means that there isn't much time for posting.

All in all, I think we did pretty well this month. Let's do even better in the new year!

Happy 2007 to everyone, and have fun posting!

Quote of the Month:

This month, I quite shamelessly nominate a quote from one of my posts for quote of the month. However, it does show the Acebi's peculiar fascination with truth, which is quite important for this mission. So it's worth quoting, in my opinion.

[When talking about the possibility that the away team might have been a street gang]
Acebi citizen: "It's quite simple. I would then tell you that you were not going to attack us. If you subsequently opted to attack us after all, you would make me a liar. But I do not lie. Therefore, you would not attack us, and we would simply walk away."
FO Velden: "Just like that?"
Acebi citizen: "Just like that. Truth disarms."
