Summary:
- 2392.07.12
Starfleet and Deasian crews got to know each other a little better as time passed by. Some officers won the trust of the crew, others did not. More than once, tensions aboard the ships rose to a new record, especially since there seemed to be more to many crewmembers than met the eye. After the mutiny on the L'tari 13, it has become clear to the Starfleet crew that there were Deasians who disagreed with the way Blev Traa envisioned the L'tari convoys.
Tes Bete, the man who led the mutiny on the L'tari 13, was one of those Deasians. He felt that it was wrong to sacrifice Deasian lives to repay a terrible debt to the dying Heltekans. The L'tari 13, taken over by Bete and his crew, set course to Deasia to use the supplies on board to save at least some of those Deasian lives. Aid Master Blev Traa intercepted the L'tari 13 with his own ship, the L'tari One, but was forced to let the L'tari 13 go on its way after the two ships had successfully defended themselves against a pirate attack.
Having established that the journey to Helteka would require multiple six-hour warp jumps, the crews of the various ships struggled to get their engines, equipment and crew ready in time for the re-launch of the convoy. On the L'tari 23, called "T'Rinna", Commander Velden found that the crew was far from sympathetic towards him; he had made some decisions which had made himself quite unpopular among some of the crew.
Other crews on board other ships, however, welcomed Starfleet guidance -- in whatever form. On the L'tari 27, subsequently named "Saint Laurence", Crewman Norman took command, with science officer Na'auao as his First Officer. On board the L'tari 25 (designated "Remember Edan"), Lieutenant Andersson got along quite nicely with one of the engineers, but her fellow crewmembers didn't like him one bit.
The crew of the L'tari 39, named "Nival", was a diverse bunch, but Lieutenant Jomorr seemed to have won the crew's trust, as did Lieutenant Fletcher and Ensign Bukov on the L'tari 3, the "Starseeker". On the latter ship, a crewmember died in what seemed like an accident but which could very well have been a murder. The crewmember's last words concerned some sort of gem which had to be protected at all costs...
At exactly 2045, the ships in the L'tari convoy -- those that were left, anyway -- started their warp jump. They will drop out of warp in six hours, at 0245, to let the engines of the T'Rinna cool off (otherwise it would overload and explode). After waiting an hour, they will once again go to warp for six hours. Right now, the convoy is holding a steady speed of nothing less than warp 3.9...
- 2392.07.13:
After the convoy jumped out of warp at 0245 to allow the T'Rinna's engine to cool off, Doctor Kadar experienced some problems on her ship, the Jatmay. It turned out there were stowaways on that ship, too, just like on the T'Rinna. Here, however, they seemed to be more hostile. One of them took Kadar hostage and demanded to be allowed off the ship.
On the "Remember Edan", the friendly engineer with whom Lieutenant Andersson had been socialising had become not so friendly anymore. When they were alone in a corridor with little chance of anyone passing by, he pinned her to the floor, hoping to take advantage of the situation. This sexually frustrated engineer would have got what he wanted if Ensign Vox hadn't intervened. There was a struggle in which both men got hurt, but Vox managed to win in the end. For now, the engineer is rendered harmless, and Vox and Andersson have grown a little closer together as they both recovered from this ordeal.
- 2392.07.14:
Aboard the "Remember Edan", Vox had been healed and was well rested after a long night's sleep. Unaware that Lieutenant Andersson has spent the night at his side, he failed to understand the stories going around the ship at warp speed. In the ship's mess hall, Vox was subsequently talking to Lieutenant Montgomery, who did not know either what happened the night before. Nor did Montgomery know what went on between Vox, Andersson and the engineer the day before.
What Lieutenant Montgomery did find out was something of another nature entirely... For what he discover was a skeleton in the closet...

Top 3 posters for June 2006:
1) Bram Peeters, 12 posts
2) Adrien Rodd, 10 posts
3) Morgan Kadar, 9 posts
There has been quite a drop in posts, but many players have been absent as well (due to LOAs, real life and other menaces). We've lost almost half our posts in comparison to last month; lets get them back in July! :P
Quote of the Month:
If you know a quoteworthy line from any of the posts in July, drop me a line by the end of the month. I might put it in here. Now, however, I just had to pick one again. Here's one I found quite noteworthy, from the three-way joint post written by Hanna, Bram and Adrien:
EEH: "Please state the nature of the engineering emergency."
EO Ensign Nikki: "Oh there is an emergency right here. A luuuvvv emergency."
