Summary:

Although it is customary to present a summary of all events for each stardate, doing so in this case would result in a log entry so long that I would be told never to make a mission summary again. So instead I will present the distinguished Admirals and other readers of this status report with a short summary that covers the entire shore leave period -- and more.

An important stardate to include is 2391.05.28: after being trapped on a derelict ship, the away teams finally managed to return to the Atlantis and put the mission behind them.

Stardate 2391.08.27 is important, too: it was at that date that Captain Torn received the message from Admiral Barclay, stating that the Atlantis was going to be part of a transwarp-capable fleet. Upon receiving the message, the ship turned around and headed towards the wormhole at high warp. They arrived at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in orbit of Mars on Stardate 2391.09.08, a few minutes before midnight (and, coincidentally, the deadline). Admiral Barclay came to inspect the vessel and her crew the following day.

On that day, the problem posed by Lieutenant Rofellian was discussed. The command team didn't trust the Romulan Lieutenant, but the latter would not agree to a mind-probing by Lieutenant Jomorr. His refusal only added to the suspicions that Rofellian was a Romulan spy. Curiously enough, Starfleet Intelligence sent a message to Captain Torn, warning him not to interfere, and saying that they were already keeping an eye on Rofellian.

After the Admiral's visit, the refit began, as did shore leave for many crewmembers. The crew of the Atlantis went to very different locations, such as Deneva Prime for Lieutenant Montgomery and Ensign Vil, Mars for Lieutenant Jomorr and Ensign Andersson, and Earth for Lieutenant Singh, among others. Commander Velden went to command school, while Ensign Sh'lin also went back to the Academy to study to become a transporter operator. Later that year, Commander Velden was temporarily assigned to the USS Escher as First Officer, before returning to the Atlantis again in time for the completion of the refit.

And now it is almost time... time for the Atlantis to leave Utopia Planitia and resume her mission of exploration... This time as a proud member of the Frontier Fleet.
