(|CMO Dan Marck - Sat Jul 24 19:50:22 CEST 2004|)
(USS Atlantis - Main Sickbay - 2391.04.18, 0908)

"I thought they replaced your redundant holomatrix for a better one..", Dan said while looking away from the hologram again. He has always thought of holograms to being inferior to organic beings, even if some of them claim otherwise. If Marck wasn't able to sense life from someone, that someone doesn't really exist.

"Now see here!", the EMH had apparently found his volume controls and shouted at a superior officer, "I am an upgraded version of the original mark 1, and..."

"Which is still inferior to the newest version of the EMH program.", the CMO interrupted the hologram and he started to look around the room to see what needed to be changed. He was sure he could bring this small sickbay up to his standards, which would surely be above anything this hologram had ever laid his photonic hands on.

"Well..", the EMH started, clearly showing that he disagreed with the real doctor, "at least being a hologram has it's advantages over being an organic person... At least *I* don't need to eat all the time... or engage in all those other *useless* activities you like to do... Also, I am smarter than any other doctor: after all, I have complete access to the *entire* Starfleet Medical Database."

Marck glared back to the EMh again, "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention, you were saying?", he asked.

"In fact, I think I should be appointed the Chief Medical Officer. The crew could benefit from my knowledge... and, of course, I cannot get hurt..."

"Computer, deactivate the EMH's vocal subroutines. Authorisation Marck 6-6-6 Omega."

<> Acknowledged <>

~Better.~, he thought and smiled softly. Dan looked around again and walked to *his* office with the EMH closely following, trying to say a lot of things. "Give me an inventory list and go make yourself useful.", the Lt. ordered.

(reply EMH, even though you can't speak <G>)

"Doctor?", he then heard behind him. It wasn't that he hadn't felt the man approaching, but he still startled him slightly. Dan's mind was a little preoccupied with other things.

He turned to face the man, wearing the red suit of command and decorated with 3 pips. He noticed that the EMH was trying to answer the call for 'doctor', but luckily he wasn't able to, "That would be me."

"I'm Commander Torn, the First Officer. It is customary to report to the First Officer or Captain when reporting." Torn paused, "Was there some emergency I was unaware of?"

"No emergency Commander, after being to the bridge I thought it best to examine my office and sickbay before contacting you. Unfortunately when I came here, the hologram was being a bit annoying and strayed my mind from my previous purpose."

(reply Torn, EMH)

Dan was getting annoyed by the EMH now, "Like I said, I was getting annoyed by him so I disabled his vocal subroutines."

(reply Torn)

"Computer, enable the EMH's vocal subroutines."

(reply EMH)

Dan sighed at the tremendous amount of information flowing from the EMH's mouth, "Computer, deactivate the EMH.", he spoke and a moment later the EMH was no more.

"I'll activate him again when we're done, I hate being interrupted.

(reply Torn)

(reply Torn, EMH, any)
