Brig Guard Vordorm
(USS Atlantis - Brig - 2391.03.23, 1631)
Vordorm's day had only recently begun, and his shift not much after that. He'd already taken a quick look in the brig, and relieved in a way that it was vacant. Now he sat at a small desk, waiting, as there was little else for him to undertake.
Although the chair was comfortable, Vordorm was beginning to ache. The previous night he'd had a bit of a fall, and had injured himself. The prolonged sitting just aggravated the Lurian crewman.
~I think a walk is in order. I might as well run a diagnostic check on the cells whilst I'm at it.~
Vordorm stood to his feet, and allowed them to lead him out of the office and into the brig.
Not expecting anyone in the brig, the CPO began to make his way directly towardsthe solitary console. He stopped abruptly as a female human stepped into the archway of one of the holding cells.
"Ehm, sorry.." she said. "I... ehm.. was just testing it.."
Vordorm was bemused. He recognized her, from the crew manifest, and wondered aloud at what she meant. "Testing, Ambassador?"
"Never mind.." Diana quickly came out of the holding cell. "It was.. nothing. Please forget it.."
Still puzzled, Vordorm said nothing more about her presence in the cell and proceeded towards the console. Vordorm's hands failed to reach the controls before the Ambassador engaged in conversation with him again.
Diana sighed. "I was actually here to ask you a few questions... it's about diplomatic business."
~Who does she think I am?~ ran through the Lurian's mind as he spoke. "Ambassador, I'm not a diplomat, I'm not even an officer. I fail to see how I can be of assistance to you at this time."
"Well, some Lurian ambassadors want to have some apples as payment or something. Why would they want that?"
Briefly, Vordorm pretended not to hear the question as he started to enter some commands into the console, beginning the diagnostic check. Satisfied with the start of the scans, he returned his attention to Ambassador von Klinkerhoffen.
"Ambassador," the brig guard began. "I must admit that I have no real idea. On my homeworld, apples are unknown. I first encountered them when I was at the Academy, and admit that I do enjoy them very much. I can only assume that duing the course of their recent negotiations, these
diplomats have garnered a taste for the fruit."
(Reply von Klinkerhoffen, any)
