ACMO Chantal Boudrelli
(USS Atlantis - Sickbay - 2391.03.17, 1740)
Hectic... Sickbay was going crazy with people running around and they were being overwhelmed by patients. One of the holodecks had been converted into a triage room and the crewmen there were only just coping with the amount of people as well. She placed a hypospray up against the neck of one of the Draysians infront of her on the biobed and managed to stabilise his biosigns. Boudrelli sighed.
"You do good ok... your training has done you well...", the CMO spoke while Chantal was just about to walk to the next patient. She almost wanted to shout at the man for getting in her way and interrupting her concentration, but she quickly thought of who he was ... and simply nodded. The doctor left her sight and she jumped back into thought again, moving to the next patient.
"Boudrelli !", a strong voice came from behind her again a minute later, "Report on status when you have a moment!"
Chantal was about to open her mouth and yell at the man again, but she slapped herself inside, ~No Chantal ~, she said to herself, ~He's a superior officer...~
"In a minute!", she said back, just loud enough for the CMO to hear. She turned back to the Draysian officer she was attending to and looked him in the eyes. The feeling she was getting with these people were far from good, they seemed to have only limited emotions... all she could feel on the surface was aggression and hatred.. and it was starting to have an influence on her own emotional state as well. Sometimes Chantal hated her empathic abilities and she wished she had trained more to control it. Sickbay was a bad place to loose mental control as the pain harvested inside could run an emotional shock down her spine.
She snapped back into the real world and finished up with her current patient. "You'll be fine," she said as she laid the officer to rest on the biobed.
Chantal grabbed a Padd from the desk next to the biobed and added some more data to the report. She walked up to the doctor and handed the report over to him, "Status report, Sir.", she said calmly, trying to block out all emotions from outside, resulting in an internal emotional block as well. A technique which was hard to learn and master, but very efficient in times of distress. "We're managing, Sir, just barely though.....", she said, "This vessel class doesn't have extensive medical facilities, unfortunately... but we're managing...."

Just after the doctor's reply, a man in red walked up and as he came closer, Boudrelli recognised him as the Captain, "Everything under control, Mister Ryan?", he asked. (NRPG: Around 1747)

Boudrelli nodded, turned around and walked up to the first patient she laid eyes on. ~Sometimes I hate this job~, she thought as she saw the man's injuries.. There was nothing she could do for this man anymore and the pain was starting to leak through her mental block. ~I can't ... I... can not ... loose my mind...~, she thought, ~Too many people.... depend on me.~
She closed her eyes and focused all her strength on her blockade. She could feel the pain grow less and the barrier becoming more stable. Chantal opened her eyes again, staring straight into sickbay, showing no emotion at all... "Back to work", she said softly and did just that..
