Sindorin is located in the Badlands. The planet was once inhabited by a group of Ingavi, and was sometimes used by the Maquis.
Sindorin is tropical, 2/3 of the land is covered in dense rainforest. In the southern hemisphere, a sub-continent had some recent volcanic activity that has deposited a rare mineral in the water table. The trees draw it up into the canopy and it interferes with sensors. Anything but the most intense scan bounces off. The forests are teeming with life, but you wouldn't know it from orbit. Sindorin has amazing auroras due to the Badlands. During the rainy season, it rains twice a day, once in the early morning, and once in the early evening. The rain is so regular, you can set a clock by it. The Big Lake, called so by the Maquis, on the southern tip of the subcontinent, it's the only large open body of fresh water on that part of the planet. Caves on Sindorin are actually the hollowed out remains of a massive root system. In the distant past, Sindorin had gargantuan trees.
