 | North Star Colony | |
|---|
|
|---|
The North Star Colony is Human and Skagaran settlement that is located in the Expanse. In 2153, there were about 6,000 Human inhabitants, whose settlements were within a few hundred km of each other. There were less than 1,000 Skagarans. The earliest structures were built around 1900. The Colony was founded by a group of Skagarans who abducted Humans for slave labor. The Humans, led by Cooper Smith, revolted. They killed most of the Skagarans, and instituted oppressive laws against those who survived. It was illegal to teach Skagarans, with a minimum sentence of 10 years. It was also illegal for them to drink, own property, or marry. If a Skag killed a Human, it was a hanging offense, even if it was in self-defense. The Colony was discovered by the Enterprise NX-01. The contact with advanced Humans from Earth made the colonists rethink some of their outdated laws. (ENT: North Star)
