A parallell universe first visited by James T. Kirk.
After the first crossover, those in the mirror universe were afraid others might come to interfere in their affairs. All Mirror transporters were redesigned so that another crossover wouldn't occur. It was decided then that if it ever happened again they would promptly dispose of anyone who appeared from the other side.
The Alliance is a political entity in this universe that was formed with the the historic coming together of the Klingons and the Cardassians.
Kirk is one of the most famous names in the history of the mirror universe. He convinced Mirror Spock to initiate reforms, but those reforms left the Terran's Empire weak, and they were conquered by the Alliance.
Bajor had been under Terran occupation for decades, so when they were freed, they petitioned the Alliance for entry and were accepted. Bajor has become an influential power within the Alliance. Terok Nor was the center of authority for the Bajor sector. The Intendent was Mirror Kira Nerys.
