(|STATUS REPORT: USS Odyssey January 2004 by Dennis Church|)
Stardate 2391.03.20

The Odyssey has received its new assignment-they are to go to the world of Pabloias Prime to negotiate the end to a civil war. The Paloyans, a recently new Federation member, is looking to mine a relatively new metal called Gyranzite-a metal with some intriguing properties that Starfleet hopes to take advantage of, but they are being held back by a rebel faction, who took the first negotiating team that was sent by the Federation prisoner.

Captain Bennek beamed down to the planet with Counsellor Sellser-Talchan and Lieutenant Byrne, in an attempt to negotiate an end to this dispute and to negotiate the release of the Federation prisoners. Unfortunately, upon their beaming down they were captured as well-supposedly by the rebel movement, aiming to gain a voice for their cause.

It is up to the remaining crew of the Odyssey to end this crisis and ensure the safe return of all the prisoners, while securing Gyranzite mining rights for the Federation.
