(|Dikironium cloud creature|)
The Dikironium Cloud Creature on the planet Argus X.The U.S.S. Farragut encountered the dikironium cloud creature in 2256 on Tycho IV. The U.S.S. Enterprise encountered it on Argus X on Stardate 3619.2. The two planets were 1,000 light years apart. When near the dikironium cloud creature, there is a sweet odor, like honey. The Cloud takes every red corpuscle from humanoid bodies. Ensign Rizzo said that it seemed like there was something out there that knew he was scanning it, and kept changing into something different. The creature could head into space. It could travel at nearly warp 8. It was in a borderline state, between matter and energy with elements of both. Spock speculated it might use gravitational fields for propulsion. Kirk claimed that as he lost consciousness 11 years ago aboard the Farragut, he could sense the intelligence of the creature. Phasers and photon torpedoes were ineffective against the creature. The creature has the ability to throw itself out of time sync makes it possible for it to be elsewhere in the instant the phaser hits. After leaving Argus X, and being purged from the U.S.S. Enterprise, the creature returned to Tycho IV. Captain Kirk used hemoplasm from Sickbay to lure the creature, and destroyed it with a matter/antimatter blast. (TOS: Obession)
