The Golanan Time Portal is a portal to the past or the future. It was created by the ancient Golanan civilization, which disappeared 2000 years ago. In 2374, Molly O'Brien fell into a Golanan time portal while the O'Briens were picnicing on Golana. It sent her 300 years into the past. (DS9: Time's Orphan)

Gravimetric scanner
Device used to measure fluctuations in a local gravitational field.
Graviton
Elementary particle that transmits gravitational force. A graviton inverter circuit is a key component of an antigrav. A graviton field generator is another element of artificial-gravity generators and is used in force field applications as well. Graviton field energy generated by a tractor beam can be used to strengthen the structural integrity of a vessel being towed.
Gravity generator
Device based on the emission of graviton particles that provides artificial gravity in normally zero-g environments. Artificial gravity is an essential life support system on a starship, since it allows natural walking and working and enables an "upwards" and "downwards" orientation. Usually a network of gravity generators is employed, in order to provide a homogeneous gravity field. In case of an EPS failure, the gravity generators on Federation starships remain in service for up to 240min.
Gravity plating
Gravity plating creates gravity on NX-Class vessels. (ENT: Bound)

Guardian of Forever, The
The ruins in which the Guardian of Forever is extend to the horizon. It is 10,000 centuries old. Turbulent waves of time displacement can extend millions of miles away from the Guardian. It can speak. The Guardian is both machine and being, and neither. It is a gateway to other times and dimensions. Dr. McCoy, delusional from an overdose of cordrazene, entered the Guardian, and changed history. The U.S.S. Enterprise disappeared, and only the landing party remained. Captain Kirk and Spock entered the Guardian in an attempt to stop McCoy. The Guardian agreed to return them if they succeeded. Events pass at a high rate of speed. When Spock asked if the Guardian could slow the rate at which they passed, he replied that others had asked, and that it could not change. (TOS: The City on the Edge of Forever)
