On Stardate 2817, Captain Kirk attended a play of Macbeth performed by the Karidian Company of Players on Planet Q. Two of the characters in the play are Macbeth and King Duncan. During the course of the play, Macbeth stabs King Duncan. (TOS: The Conscience of the King)

Garak called this the finest Cardassian novel ever written. In this work, the author is chronicling seven generations of a single family, but he tells the same story over and over. All his characters lead selfless lives of duty to the state, grow old and die. Then the next generation comes along and does it all over again. Bashir thought it was interesting, but a little dull in parts. The Never-ending Sacrifice is the greatest achivement of the repetitive epic genre. (DS9: The Wire)
