NOTE: This list is not finished yet, but if there is an abbreviation that really should be included ASAP leave a message in the website forum. ASAP - as soon as possible   Game related abbreviations These are the abbreviations used a lot outside posts. Most of them, like NPC, PC and SPC are explained in more detail in the Game Rules. AcadCM - Academy Commandant BD - Below Decks (sometimes used in the subject of a post to indicate the character is a NPC) GM - Game Master NPC - Non-Playing Character NRPG - Non Role Playing Game PB(E)M - Play By EMail PC - Player or Primary Character RPG - Role Playing Game SPC - Special or Secondary Playing Character   Abbreviations used in posts These are the abbreviation that are used in posts, but also elsewhere. More information about the positions can be found in the Personnel Manuals in the Database. 2O - Second (2nd) Officer CEO and ACEO - (Assistant) Chief Engineering Officer CMO and ACMO - (Assistant) Chief Medical Officer CO - Commanding Officer COUNS and ACOUNS - (Assistant) Chief Counsellor CSO and ACSO - (Assistant) Chief Science Officer FO - First Officer HN - Head Nurse OPS and AOPS - (Assistant) Chief of Operations STC and ASTC - (Assistant) Security and Tactical Chief TC - Transporter Chief XO - Executive Officer   Other There are several other abbreviations that you may encounter in NRPG mail, normal email (not posts) or when chatting with someone. AFAIK - As Far As I Know AFK - Away From Keyboard ASAP - As Soon As Possible BTW - By The Way BRB - Be Right Back EG - Evil Grin G - Grin IIRC - If I Recall/Remember Correctly IM(H)O - In My (Humble) Opinion LMAO - Laughing My A$$ Off LOL - Laughing Out Loud ROFL - Rolling On Floor Laughing VEG - Very Evil Grin   π
