(|USS Odyssey Status Report, February 2007, by Rob Versteegt.|)
Current Mission: "Vanishing Point"
Location of the (crew of the) USS Odyssey: Tarakana II.
Stardate: 2393.01.13

Summary:

At Stardate 2393.01.13, the USS Odyssey arrived at Tarakana II, where the population had a major problem: one fifth of the entire population had already disappeared! All these disappearances happened at night, and continued to do so when the Odyssey arrived in orbit. The Odyssey crew was mystified about the cause of these disappearances, so Commander Nerfertii and an Away Team consisting of acting STC Harmondale, Security Officers Jyll and Load, COUNS Graves and CMO Termal beam down and had a meeting with the Prime Leader. Or well, they would have, if the Prime Leader hadn't disappeared as well. Minister Erzzbah was the next one in line for the function of Prime Leader, so he met with the Away Team. Most of the Away Team was now sent away with specific orders -like guarding the building, finding out more about these people, and so on-, and Commander Nerfertii stayed behind with Minister Erzzbah. Together, they decided that it would be best if the Tarakanans -the entire population!- stayed where they were now. After all, if this was a disease of some sort, it could easily be spread through contact with other Tarakanans. Though nobody was certain of this, it was considered to better be safe than sorry. . .

At about 1915, Ambassador T'kella beamed down to investigate the situation. She disobeyed orders by going alone, instead of with a security escort. She paid for this disobedience dearly: the Security Officer who beamed down a couple of minutes after her, found her commbadge, and signs of a struggle...

Around 2000 hours, Captain Jalando gave the rest of the Odyssey crew permission to go down to the surface, and help out in whatever problems arose. For example, Lieutenant Nerell and Ensign Latesse went to help out in a region covered with snow, to protect the population there from violent Roweg-beasts. Not that the inhabitants there wanted these beasts killed though: apparently these Roweg-beasts were symbols of hope for the Tarakanans...

Ensign Jyll, accompanied by Lieutenant Ta'agk of Pandora Station, went to the city of Gnaarmok: apparently there was quite some trouble there with a religious sect, who had taken over most of the city!
