Having recieved their first mission, the Valkyrie arrives at the Te'Har system, under orders to find the source and cure a mysterious disease that now plagues the Te'Har race and decimated a Starfleet team observing the Te'Har at a duckblind installation. A large team lead by Commander Byrne is sent down to the duck blind to investigate how the disease permeated the facility and to conduct repairs on the installation, while the Valkyrie has begun a preliminary investigation into the source of the disease.
Meanwhile, ex-Starfleet officers X'oX PaRel and Emile Schofield have been given an assignment by Starfleet intelligence - to track down the true perpetrators of the plague. In true valkyrie fashion, they are not going about it how Starfleet wants them to....will that prove more effective or ultimately derail their search for the truth?
