In between missions the crew of the Atlantis stayed docked at the Frontier Fleet HQ: Pandora Station, partly due the ship's need for repair since the last brush with Dominion ships and the even more unusual subspace aliens' attack; and partly because they needed to deliver the misplaced captains, Kane and Sarin and to pick up their own: Captain Torn.
During the two months back in the Alpha Quadrant the crew of the Atlantis seemed to enjoy some quite time aboard the ship, working on their relationships and skills and spending time on the holodeck. Lieutenant Fletcher underwent several intensive counseling sessions while at the same time studying Operation procedures, successfully qualifying himself to switch department.
The ship's only Romulan faced trials of a different kind, not only did he need to struggle with an understaffed security department but with his romantic relationship with one of the ship's spotty counsellors, Miss Imala as well. Love is a complicated matter, especially if you are in love with a stoic hologram. After having a man-to-hologram talk with bartender Bart Mr Brown decided to continue his courtship of the ship's EEH. The hologram's reaction towards him could be described as tolerate at best. The matter of Brown's impossible affection directed towards the hologram have affected more people however, the ship's ACEO had an-almost-argument (Montgomery left before things got heated) on the subject with his girlfriend, Ensign Vil, with whom he lives together since a couple of months back. Will the slightly pouchy man win the EEH's subroutines, and will Montgomery stand his ground or give in to the whims of his girlfriend/soul mate?
Lieutenants Jomorr and Andersson got drunk together and dressed up in spandex costumes, posing as couple of Super-Heroes on the holodeck. The drink they shared before seemed to have left almost complete blank spots in their memory of their night together. What they do remember are the hangovers they both woke up with the following day. But that was not that all happened on the Atlantis that was connected to alcohol, Ensign Ouder and Science Crewman Conyas found a crate of fine Orion Brandy in a dusty Jefferies tube. Now, the question that is on everyone's mind is: Who put it there? Someone must know, right?
The Atlantis left the starbase after just about a two months long visit. While in transwarp heading deeper into the Gamma Quadrant, the command team arranged for a party to be held in Five For, a party that was sure to feature promotions.
Among the party crowd was Ensign Andrusia and Lieutenant Andersson. No one knows for certain how but the two initiated a telepathic connection when they touched. Andrusia, being half-Vulcan, and Andersson being half-Betazoid, somehow found themselves down on the planet, Delta Nuu IV, where Andrusia had gotten into a bar fight and received serious reprimands for his violation of the Prime Directive. All thought time seemed to pass in its normal pace in their shared vision; the connection only lasted for a few seconds back in Five For. The connection was severed just in time for Captain Torn's speech to his crew.
The speech was followed by promotions. No less then four new department heads where announced: Fletcher became Chief of Operations, Kadar Chief Medical Officer and Lieutenant Rofellian was promoted to Chief of the Tactical/Security department, all for their excellent performance during the last mission. The fourth department head to be promoted was Lieutenant Andersson, who also was promoted to the ship's new Second Officer. Though she was trilled at first an incident with a newly assigned Trill, Counsellor Vox, a few days later caused them both to receive a grave warning from Commander Velden. They were off for a rough start, Velden eventually assigned them to work opposite shifts for the sake of the onboard unity and peace, after cleaning up the coke stain in Five For's carpet that is.
On the distant world of Deasia III, Aid Master Blev Traa starts yet another long, dangerous journey towards the home planet of the Heltekans. A planet suffering from an atomic winter since 80 years, caused by the previous generation of Deasians. Will they ever will be able to repay their depth? Or will the rebel Pirates force them to seize with the convoys, condemning the Heltekans to slowly diminish?
Not long after the convoy sets out on their mission a great number of pirate ships moved in and attacked the convoy. Their greatness in number make it an easy task for them to destroy the two escorting warships and surround the convoy from all sides.
A distress call is sent out to the nearest ship, which just happened to be the USS Atlantis, its crew is responding to their desperate plea for help...
