Holonovel based on an epic poem written in 8th century England. It drew from Scandinavian history and folklore, and recounted the hero Beowulf's fight with the water monster Grendel, his victory over a dragon, and his later death and funeral. One character was Freya, a shield-maiden and daughter to King Hrothgar. Freya boasted about her victories with Scyld the Gar-Dane and her campaign against the heatho-bards. |
