» LCARS » Security/Tactical Database » Weapons » Alien weapons » Cardassian Weapons Orbital weapons platform These Cardassian defense platforms, used during the Dominion War, employed regenerative force fields for hull protection and were equipped with 1000 plasma torpedoes. They got their power via a subspace link from a central generator, which was placed on, for example, a nearby moon. In the Chin'toka system, the Cardassians had implemented a large number of these weapons platforms. When the force fields on the platforms and the moon could not be penetrated, the U.S.S. Defiant used its deflector array to make the moon give off a false Federation warp signature. The platforms fired on their own power source, and they were destroyed.
