(|An Interview with Captain Kane, by Iana Darnena.|)
DARNENA: Good day Captain Kane. Thank you for agreeing to this interview. Well, let's get straight to the point: 6 Starships and Pandora Station and Delta One will form Frontier Fleet: a fleet where the starships all have Transwarp. Even the USS Solstice, which was first assigned to the Station, will now get Transwarp, and will run supply runs between Pandora and Delta One. Everyone will have a faster way of transportation, while you just keep sitting still. How do you feel about this?

KANE: Suppose those ships did not get transwarp, they'd still be flying around. If I wouldn't like that, I wouldn't have decided to accept this position. I have been offered command of a starship before and I declined. There is enough left to be explored in this universe without having to go away hundreds of lightyears from home.

DARNENA: Pandora Station will be Frontier Fleet's HeadQuarters. What exactly does this mean?

KANE: That means that the Frontier Fleet will be commanded by some admirals who will have their offices aboard this station. Nothing more, nothing less.

DARNENA: The Fleet Command Team came on board not too long ago. They consist of Admirals Barclay, Tir, and Graag. What is your first impression of them? Do they seem. . . competent to you?

KANE: I am confident that Starfleet knows what they are doing.

DARNENA: And what about your own authority? Won't they undermine that? After all, you are no longer the most senior officer on board the Station. Doesn't this bother you?

KANE: With respect to normal station activities, all of that will remain under my authority. I will remain in command of everything that happens on Pandora, as long as it concerns Starfleet matters of course; the only thing that is changing is that instead of sending my reports to Starfleet Command at Earth, I will be sending it to the admirals offices on deck 150.

DARNENA: I see. So you don't mind that these Admirals will be monitoring everything you do, looking over your shoulder all the times, and maybe even questioning your decisions? They are, after all, on the same station as you are. They cannot help noticing what is going on. . .

KANE: If they have enough time to be looking over my shoulder all the time, then something must be wrong. They will be in charge of the Frontier Fleet, I assume they will be quite busy with that.

DARNENA: How about civilian life on Pandora Station then? What will the increased Starfleet presence on the Station have for impact on the civilians? They will obviously notice something going on, won't they?

KANE: Well, if they follow the news, they will know what is going on, but I don't think Starfleet's presence on the station will increase or would suddenly be a lot more obvious. In fact, one thing they should notice would be *less* Starfleet officers patrolling the civilian areas as Pandora's police department will soon increase from just one officer to about thirty.

DARNENA: I see. Captain Kane, my thanks to you for this interview. It was very. . . enlightening, to say the least. Perhaps some day, we can have an interview again. In the mean time, goodbye.

KANE: My pleasure.
