The crew of the Odyssey was surprised to learn that their new mission involved heading to a neutral planet - Dinwor 5, the home of the reclusive Jerwasi -to represent Starfleet in a musical festival, of sorts. However, while sorting out how the competition is going to work, Commander Denebris is sent a personal transmission, with information from an outside force that changes the nature of the mission entirely.

Apparently, a militant Bajoran group will attempt to assassinate the keynote speaker at the festival - Jerul Revar, a Cardassian musical expert. The crew of the Odyssey faces a conundrum; in order to protect Revar, they need to perform well enough to get past the qualifying rounds of the festival...
