History |
The Dominion is a large, interplanetary dictatorship controlled by the Founders. There are hundreds of planets in the Dominion, most are unwilling members. The Dominion is over 2,000 years old.
In 2172, the Dominion unleashed a deadly disease upon Teplan society. In 2340, they conquered the planet Yadera Prime. In 2370 the planet T-Rogoran was also conquered.
By 2370, the Dominion had planted agents in the Federation and other major Alpha Quadrant powers. They gained tactical information, and worked to destabalize these powers as a prelude to invasion.
They objected to the presence of Alpha Quadrant species in the Gamma Quadrant, and in 2370, they destroyed a number of ships in the Gamma Quadrant, as well as the New Bajor colony.
Several Alpha Quadrant governments signed a non-agression pact with the Dominion including the Tholian Assembly, Bajor, the Miradorn, and the Romulan Star Empire.
In 2373, the Dominion allied themselves with the Cardassian Union.
In 2373 the Dominion began an invasion of the Alpha Quadrant, but were defeated by an alliance of Federation, Klingon, and Romulan forces. |
Society |
| The day to day administration of the Dominion is handled by the Vorta, who in turn control the Jem'Hadar, who serve as soldiers. Some of the races in the Dominion, including the Jem'Hadar and the Vorta have been genetically engineered, and can no longer reproduce except through cloning. |
Technology |
Dominion transporters have a greater range than Federation ones. With a homing transponder, their maximum range is 3 light years.
The Dominion has mines that hide in subspace and appear at random. Starfleet officers nicknamed them Houdini's. |
Member Planets |
| Breen, Cardassia (former), Founders, Jem'Hadar, Karemma, T-Rogoran, Vorta, Yadera Prime. |
Notes |
Dominion internment camp 371 is located on an asteroid in the Gamma Quadrant, that was the former site of a ultritium mine. The asteroid was made habitable by an atmospheric dome. Cardassian and Romulan survivors of the Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar attack on the Founders homeworld were held here.
The Dominion placed a ketracel-white storage facility in the Pelosa System during the Dominion War. |
