In the 24th century, the planet's ecosystem was threatened by industrial pollutants in the atmosphere. It caused the loss of rainforest, and threatened several species of animals.  Notes  The Corvan gilvos is a stick-like animal that lives in the rainforests of Corvan II. They were best suited to live in trees, as their bodies resembled a branch. Only 14 gilvos were still living in 2368. Two gilvos were transported via the USS Enterprise-D to the protected planet Brentalia.
