The multi-vector assault mode introduced a few interesting complications to the design of the transwarp engine for the USS Epimetheus.
The combined warpcores of the middle and bottom section that usually power the ship while it's in normal operating mode can barely supply enough power to the transwarp drive. To overcome this problem, the warpcore of the saucer section is used to power all other systems while the ship is at transwarp.
